Need it signed and sealed? We cover all 50 states.

The software produces the Engineering Report. When you need a stamp, our PE network signs and seals nationwide — Florida work up to three stories by our in-house Florida P.E., other states routed to a licensed engineer there. Sealing is a separate professional service.

Built for the openings that fail wind audits

Three things generalist software gets wrong on windows, doors, and shutters — and we get right.

DP matching built in

Design pressure that matches your approval

Required C&C pressure vs. rated DP — pass or fail, per opening

We return the required positive and negative design pressures for each window, door, and shutter. Then compare them against the rated DP on the approval.

  • Required pressures by zone and effective wind area
  • Match to NOA / FL Product Approval / ICC-ES DP ratings
  • Clear pass / fail when an approved DP is below the requirement
  • Impact and non-impact products both handled
Stop eyeballing a spec sheet against a pressure table. The report shows exactly where an approval falls short before it reaches the plan reviewer.
Mulled assemblies

One opening, three load checks

The mullion fails when you size for one unit but install two

A mulled assembly is not one calc. We check each tributary unit, the mullion carrying both tributary areas, and the wall opening itself.

  • Each tributary unit at its own effective wind area
  • The mullion — loaded by both units it joins
  • The wall opening the whole assembly sits in
  • Anchor demand sized for the real load path
Sizing anchors for a single unit when two are mulled is a classic pullout failure. All three checks ship in one report.
100% approval over 24 years

Florida HVHZ context & a 50-state seal

Real engineers and a PE network — not generic tech support

Florida Building Code context is built in, and a licensed P.E. can sign and seal the result anywhere in the country.

  • HVHZ: Miami-Dade & Broward, wind-borne-debris region
  • 4-ft edge strip minimum per FBC — threaded automatically
  • PE sign-and-seal in all 50 states via our PE network
  • In-house Florida P.E. for FL work up to three stories
  • 100% coefficient traceability to its ASCE 7 section
When a reviewer pushes back, your report carries 24 years and a 100% permit-approval record — plus a seal in the state where you are building.

From address to permit-ready report

A guided C&C workflow for window, door, and shutter openings.

1

Location & code

Enter the project address. Design wind speed and the ASCE edition load automatically.

2

Building & exposure

Set dimensions, roof height, and exposure (B, C, or D). Validation catches errors.

3

Define openings

Add each window, door, or shutter with its size, zone, and effective wind area.

4

Match & export

Compare required DP to your approval, then export the Engineering Report.

Who uses this calculator

Built for everyone who has to prove an opening meets the wind requirement.

Replacement window contractors

Calculate design pressures for impact-rated, vinyl, and aluminum-frame installs, and submit permits with confidence.

Door manufacturers & installers

Size entry, French, and sliding glass doors to the wind requirement for residential and commercial work.

Storm shutter companies

Run accordion, roll-down, and panel systems — critical for hurricane-prone coastal and HVHZ regions.

Architects & engineers

Specify openings with accurate C&C pressures and hand clean calculations to contractors and reviewers.

Building departments

Review applications and verify contractor calculations against ASCE 7 with traceable coefficients.

Manufacturers & distributors

Verify a product's rated DP meets a project requirement before fabrication and shipping.

Frequently asked questions

Which window, door, and shutter assemblies can I calculate?

Replacement and new-construction windows, sliding glass doors, French doors, entry and storm doors, plus accordion, roll-down, and panel hurricane shutters. Both impact-rated and non-impact products are supported as Components & Cladding.

How does it match design pressure to my product approval?

The calculator returns the required positive and negative C&C design pressures for each opening, then you compare them to the rated DP on the NOA or product approval. A clear pass or fail flags any opening whose approved DP is below the required pressure.

Does it handle mulled assemblies?

Yes. A mulled assembly is one opening with three load checks: each tributary unit, the mullion carrying both tributary areas, and the wall opening itself. Sizing anchors for a single unit when two are mulled is a common pullout-failure cause, so all three are checked.

Which ASCE 7 editions are supported?

ASCE 7-22, the current standard. Most jurisdictions are on 7-16 today, while 7-22 adoption is growing — confirm the adopted edition with your building department.

Does it support Florida HVHZ and Miami-Dade?

Yes. It applies Florida Building Code context including the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone for Miami-Dade and Broward, the wider wind-borne-debris region, and the 4-foot edge-strip minimum required in Florida. Miami-Dade NOA matching is built in.

What do I get in the Engineering Report?

A permit-ready Engineering Report with design wind speed, exposure category, topographic and elevation factors, zone diagrams, per-opening required pressures, and DP-to-approval comparisons. Export to PDF, Excel, CSV, or print — with optional company branding.

Can I get the report signed and sealed by a P.E.?

Yes. PE sign-and-seal is available in all 50 states through our PE network. Florida work up to three stories is handled by our in-house Florida P.E.; projects elsewhere are routed to a licensed engineer in that state. Sealing is a separate professional service from the software.

Are these reports accepted by building departments?

Our reports carry a 100% permit-approval record across 24 years. Building officials recognize the professional format and complete ASCE 7 documentation, and PE sign-and-seal is available on request.

Do I need an engineering degree to use it?

No. It is built for engineers, contractors, installers, and product specialists. The step-by-step interface guides each input with tooltips and built-in ASCE 7 references. Understanding basic C&C concepts helps when interpreting results.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel anytime from your account dashboard. Access continues through the end of your paid billing period, with no cancellation fees and a 7-day money-back guarantee on new subscriptions.
